How to Protect your Family and Home from Fire

How to Protect your Family and Home from Fire

It’s Fire Prevention Week!  As the weather cools and we start to think about turning our furnaces on and burning all the leaves in the backyard.  Reliable Heating & Air wants you to do it safely and we have put together some helpful tips, resources and of course our professional electricians and furnace maintenance tune ups can help as well.  The focus of this year’s fire safety week is smoke alarms.

  1.  Assess the age of your smoke alarms.  National Fire Protection Association recommends smoke alarms be replaced very ten years.  Look at the back of your alarm the manufacturer provides the date.
  2. How many smoke alarms should you have?  One smoke alarm needs to be installed in every sleeping room and outside each separate sleeping area.  Also a smoke alarm needs to be on every level of your home.
  3. Smoke alarms need to all be connected together.  When one goes off they all need to go off.
  4. Test your smoke alarms one a month.

Featured Review of Reliable Heating & Air on Google

We are proud of 4.8/5 stars and over 20k Google reviews.

Our technician Rodney who also had helped us with plumbing issues at a previous property was prompt courteous, and a joy to work with. All the folks from reliable have made a lasting positive impression on us, and so we have been and will continue to be long term repeat customers. While I may ask for other estimates for work to do my due diligence, I value my prior experience with Reliable beyond what their estimates are. They have very knowledgeable people who rapidly diagnose and solve problems with what feels like our best interests in mind.
